Maison de l’histoire is een plek waar verhalen samenkomen. Een boutique B&B én een zorgvuldig gecureerde collectie vintage meubels en objecten. Gelegen vlakbij Sint-Martens-Latem en de Leie, brengen we twee werelden samen: logeren in een sfeervol huis én shoppen tussen unieke vondsten. A place to stay, a place to shop, a place where every piece has a story.
Wie zit er achter Maison de l’histoire?
Maison de l’histoire groeide uit de passie en toewijding van Linde. Jarenlange avondschool in houtbewerking en stofferen, eindeloze dagen en nachten van werk en oog voor detail brachten dit project tot leven. Geen massaproductie, maar het kleine en het echte: meubels en ervaringen met een ziel.
Wat maakt Maison de l’histoire bijzonder?
Hier draait alles om echtheid. Je vindt bij ons geen snelle trends of perfecte kopieën, maar objecten en huizen die karakter hebben — met littekens van tijd die ze alleen maar mooier maken. Elk stuk is zorgvuldig uitgekozen, hersteld of bewaard, zodat jij kan genieten van een verblijf en een collectie die puur en authentiek aanvoelt.
What accommodations do we offer?
We welcome you in three unique accommodations, each with its own atmosphere:
Fleur de Pivoine – eveneens in het grote huis, warm en elegant ingericht, met meer diepte en karakter.
Fleur de Jasmin – een volledig huis, doordrongen van licht en omgeven door jasmijn. Perfect om met familie of vrienden te verblijven.
Fleur de Marguerite – een intieme kamer in het grote huis, licht en eenvoudig, met zachte landelijke charme.
Are the accommodations suitable for families?
Yes. All accommodations are suitable for up to four people::
Both Fleur de Marguerite and Fleur de Pivoine can accommodate four people: two in the room itself and two extra on the sofa bed downstairs.
At Fleur de Jasmin has a bedroom for two people and a comfortable sofa bed in the living room for two more guests.
Waar ligt Maison de l’histoire?
Onze accommodaties liggen nabij Sint-Martens-Latem en de Leie. Een plek waar je even kan verdwijnen zonder ver weg te zijn — dichtbij genoeg voor uitstapjes, ver genoeg om echt tot rust te komen.
How can I make a reservation?
You can easily make a reservation via our online booking system. Select your desired accommodation (Fleur de Jasmin, Fleur de Marguerite, or Fleur de Pivoine), enter your dates, and immediately see availability.
What facilities are included?
Each accommodation has its own atmosphere and amenities:
Fleur de Pivoine – eveneens in het grote huis, met een eigen slaapkamer, slaapsofa en toegang tot de tuin.
Fleur de Jasmin – lichte woonkamer, ingerichte keuken, slaapkamer, slaapsofa én extra’s zoals een hammam en een ruim terras.
Fleur de Marguerite – gelegen in het grote huis, met een eigen slaapkamer, slaapsofa en toegang tot de tuin.
What kind of pieces do you sell?
Our collection consists of carefully selected furniture and objects, each with its own story. Think of sturdy Asian cabinets, elegant display cases, rustic sideboards, or unique accent pieces. No trends, just characterful finds that deserve a new chapter.
Do you have a physical store?
We don't have a traditional store. You can view and purchase our collection online. If you prefer to see and feel the pieces in real life, you can make an appointment to discover them in person.
How do you source the furniture?
Each item is a second-hand find that has been carefully selected. Thanks to our expertise in woodworking and upholstery, the pieces are given a new lease of life without losing their soul. We never choose based on perfection, but always on character and authenticity.
Can I view the furniture in person?
Ja, dat kan. Je bent welkom op afspraak om de stukken van dichtbij te zien. Zo kan je het vakmanschap en de details écht ervaren voor je beslist.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, delivery is possible. For each piece of furniture on our website, you can indicate whether you want delivery. If that is not possible or if you have special requirements, please feel free to contact us and we will work with you to find the most suitable solution for your piece and location.
What are the pop-up events?
Af en toe openen we onze deuren voor meer dan meubels alleen. Tijdens onze pop-ups ontdek je ook pre-loved kleding, schoenen en accessoires — allemaal met dezelfde aandacht voor kwaliteit en authenticiteit.
Can I buy gift cards?
Yes, we offer gift cards. The perfect gift for those who love a special stay, a unique piece of furniture, or an authentic story.
What is a stock sale?
Soms maken we ruimte voor nieuwe vondsten en kan je tijdens een stock sale bijzondere stukken kopen aan een mooie prijs. Schrijf je in voor onze updates en je hoort als eerste wanneer zo’n event plaatsvindt.
How far in advance should I book?
Our accommodations are small-scale and therefore fill up quickly. It is best to book as early as possible, especially on weekends or during holiday periods.
What is your cancellation policy?
For cancellations up to 14 days before arrival , we charge 50% of the amount . For cancellations less than 14 days before arrival, the full amount will be charged.
Is parking available?
Yes, you can park on our property. The peaceful surroundings ensure a relaxing start to your stay.
What languages do you speak?
Our main language is Dutch, but we are also happy to assist you in English.
Can I bring my pet?
No, unfortunately pets are not allowed. We have made this decision in order to preserve the furniture and atmosphere of our accommodations for all guests.
Hoe duurzaam is Maison de l’histoire?
Duurzaamheid zit in alles wat we doen. We geven meubels en objecten een tweede leven en vermijden massaproductie. Zo verkleinen we de afvalberg én bewaren we vakmanschap en verhalen van vroeger.
Why vintage and not new?
Vintage heeft iets dat je niet kan namaken: karakter. Elk stuk heeft een leven achter zich, littekens die schoonheid werden, een verhaal dat blijft. Nieuw kan mooi zijn, maar vintage is écht.
How do you select the pieces?
We don't choose based on gloss or trends, but on authenticity. Every piece of furniture must have something to say. This creates a collection that is cohesive in feeling, not in uniformity.
